Introduction
I believe that the movie "Happy Days" definitely has some or other point in common with every one's life in his engineering since it covers all the aspects of the students, well i really appreciate Sekhar Kammula for such a amazing movie with simple and natural story which takes every one back to there college days.

little description about me (what makes me feel happy days related with my life)
I did my engineering (2002-2006) in electronics and communication in MGIT which is adjacent to CBIT and i saw a lot of scenes in the movie were taken in MGIT. Though our college name was not published or mentioned any where.
That was my college being show in the movie. Which boosted my thoughts and emotions further, it was refreshing to see my college campus after long time.
I usually have a habit of perceiving any movie imagining my self in the some character in the movie.i already had gone in trance thinking my role as chandu though love never happend in my life. But as i was going along with the movie some how i felt the role of chandu was a lot similar to mine in real world.
hmmmm....where do i begin my experiences
day1
I had a very different opinion of college life, just like in the movies......and being all of 18 at that time.....i believed colleges were really like that!!i did prey to god that let girls be pretty in my class as rajesh does in the movie.
It was my orientation day and my parents were not along with me and it was my sister who accompanied me to the classroom. They were around 120 students for the ece department and lot of hubbub was goin on, the staff were splinting the number into two sections e1 and e2, i thought well the decision is mine to choose which section you want and i was quite careful to choose the classroom where the girls were pretty, but by the time i entered the class room, it was almost full since i arrived little late.
There was a staff member i think it was Kameshwar Rao sir who asked me to go to the next room. i had decided no matter what, i would sit even down on the floor but would not leave the section but the sir had to catch me and force me to go to a different room.
My heart was almost broken after entering the second section, no student appealed to me but there was one cute girl who sat beside me i was over gleamed with joy seeing her.
Thinking that she is enough for this life. then they gave some application forms to collect our details and at the end of the day i realized that it was not really the partition of the students into sections.then my mind relaxed and the day had a happy ending.

Day2
n one day we had an interactive session during english
class.. and i don't no if it was by chance or deliberately our english sir picked me up and asked to be our PRINCIPAL... frankly.. i was nervous at the moment but some how i don't no what went in me i decided to act like our principal and my classmates started asking there question as if we were simulating a real scenario where students ask question to there principal.
FLOOOOORED by my answers n still my sir holds me in a high esteem bcoz of that day. i wish i realize my
potential n have to realize the importance of the day!!
DAY3
now u really dint think i'd give u a day to day
account n bore u girls and guys, did u?what followed after the first few days was ragging, lunch breaks, formal clothes and well... kinda checking out ppl(well OK!!.. checking out the girls:) ) well.. met many new ppl smiled, spoke n it ended there.. oh.. btw.. how can i forget to mention our ECE
seniors(Jairam to b more precise).. walks into
class..talks like some BOND...expecting us to be
scared eh? ..well..that was my first brush with "ppl &
places"!!!
Ragging
Then came the ragging part. initially i used to avoid seniors but after couple of events where i was ragged, i felt ragging was real fun especially when our friends are being ragged.the rules in our college were strict against ragging but seniors had devised there own strategy and plans to catch and rag us. Every day after college we had to wait in bus stop at mehdipatnam. where they would rag till late in the evening and send us home.slowly days passed and we got used to ragging. i remember senior boys were very much interested in girls they always use to take them away from us and rag. I have seen most of the times girls feel happy when they were picked up by seniors. which used to irritate us but cant help after all they are our seniors.ragging went on through the complete first year till the fresher party.
i guess if i go writing like this it would take me four years to recollect and describe each day about it. will cut short from now but will correlate the incidents in the movie which i encountered.

(panduranga in movie= va in real life)
i too encountered a guy called va who was little apart from every one in the class. i don't want to take the name of my friend so i would refer him as va. well i and few of us in the class were suspecting him to be a senior spying in our class room. i was cautious not to fool around with him. i usually sit in last bench and he was there along with me for few days.
i would speak to him but he would never open his mouth and would give a spooky smile, which no one would understand.i remember him open his mouth to answer only the questions we asked. but by himself he would have never intiatied a conversation. i assumed that he was very shy to express and get along with friends. But slowly as days passed i came to know that va was a little different from every one, when his mother came to college. His mother asked my classmates to help him, which every one of us willing to do. i tried many times speaking with him and understand his problem but i failed. after few days he never turned up to college and was not seen until the end of the semester. i remember him seeing again in a lab external he got a special permission and was allowed to the write the exam though he lacked attendance.i guess it was EDC exam and random experiments were given. i myself was doubtful about the experiment i got so i requested a friend to draw circuit diagram on a eraser and throw me, when he threw, it fell near va, he picked it up and refused to give me. i tried to explain him that it was not his experiment but still he wouldn't listen. after some time he gave me back. i was very thankful to him. i wanted to help him with his experiment but he simply left the lab. i felt little sad thinking that i was unable to help him. only thing i could do is pray god to help him.
Our Freshes Party
The end of semester was almost there and time was racing ahead. Exams and partying definitely don't go hand in hand, but it is also a fact that end of February and early March is the time when most engineering students have freshers parties for their juniors.
The Freshers Party is a grand gala bash to welcome the new students. It is an innovative theme based party with proper light, sound, dance, food and interesting party games. The highlight of this party is the contest for coveted title Ms. Fresher & Mr. Fresher and other prestigious titles Beautiful Hair/Eyes/Smile/Mr Popular and Ms Popular etc
Though we as freshers got a formal welcome from the college management, when college started in August-September, but our seniors found the period after the final exams as the best time to extend their hand of friendship. What better way to do this than in a relaxing environment of a pub or a restaurant, good food, coupled with dance and music? And this time around, these informal parties are restricted to their respective streams and meant only for the first and second year students.
finally the day arrived and the party was between 60 seniors to 120 juniors (both e1 and e2 sections) at Viceroy Convention center (which is now Mariot) that was a mammoth hall.Since the party is nearly a day-long one, there are a whole lot of exciting games and programmes lined up. "it began with an introduction session, which is then followed by games such as Ramp walk,Rose Proposal, paper dance and other such games. The lunch is followed by a disco session and then it's time to give away coveted title like Best Dressed and Mr. and Ms. Freshers,"The game that's most popular and common to most parties is Rose Proposal, where juniors have to propose to anyone in the opposite sex in front of the entire crowd. And the girl or boy who gets the maximum number of roses, is given the Ms. and Mr. Rose title. Another equally popular game is the paper dance, where the girls get to dance with their chosen partner and the ones who complete the dance walk away with the award. at our time the priority of choosing your partner in paper dance was given only to girls and if they dont select you, you would never get a chance.
I was selected by a very cute girl whom i liked but for some reason she did not turn up at the right moment when the dance started so it was a flop show for me rest of my friends enjoyed dancing with there own partners. I forgot to mention you it is not the seniors alone who lighten their purses, the juniors too need to ensure that they carry enough cash. The roses for the proposal, for example, need to be bought from the seniors for a cost between Rs. 150 and Rs. 300. A neat Rs. 20, 000 to Rs. 35,000 is made by selling roses on that day, which is used to pay up the bills. Other than that some parties also have an auction, where juniors get to quote their prices for a bouquet that is given to their favorite person. "It's all in good humor. i was given title of Mr Popular in my freshes party, then there was the end of the party and then holidays started.

Second year
Second year was more of "discovering" the college to me. Bunking became serious business, studies took a backseat .Also second year was when i realized ECE was not meant for people like me, i was never studious never did i made attempt to study. I had big dreams about making friends with everybody else in class i used to be in world of my own. Then started quarrels between girls and boys for petty issues which is quiet common. Then suddenly we realized that we are holding a role of senior where was our chance to rag juniors. so we pounced on them like hungry tigers. Though we were never very harsh on them. it was nice when juniors called us SIR we felt look some one is there who calls you sir made us feel proud. the tensed look on juniors made us lions of the college.once a friend of mine smacked a junior for not behaving properly in his class. The thing we did not no was that the junior had good ties among our seniors from different branch. then started conflicts and quarrels with them. Then our direct seniors got into the field to help us. etc .....slowly things got calm, every one settled down.
Freshes party
it was almost the end of the semester and time for hosting the freshes party for juniors was almost there. It was a great challenge to organize a freshers party. i had no idea it would take so much of energy, time, patience , tolerance for organizing a successfull party. all my friend were very helpful to me in collection of money.especially in a class with 60 students it was so difficult to get consensus in any decision from choosing the hotel to the food menu of the party. but as time passed every thing went very well and everyone was quite satisfactory with the freshers party.as a result of the freshers party i got a new name "budget padmanabam" during my second year since when classes were goin on in college i always used to calculate the expenses, hotel charges, food charges, devise other plans for events etc for the freshers party. Nevertheless second year was fun too.
Third Year
I feel third year was the time when everybody got used to each others company .And friends started taking each other for granted. There were some friends who drifted apart due to some misunderstandings and there were some new friends made from other branches. suddenly every one woke up from sleep ---> GRE/GATE/CAT took center stage and everybody made their choices about what they wanted to after they graduated. I think in third year time flew quickly , coz i don't remember most of it. Actually i was too worried about my back locks. AND then came the Bangalore-ooty trip which i did not go but i heard from my friends they had great time. the only reason for not going to the trip was that i had an supplement exam which i wouldn't risk and i had already been to industrial tour with my seniors in my second year.

Final year
Mindsets changing this semester. Everybody seemed serious about their careers; classes were bunked to go study and not to go to prasads!! all of us were "maturing":-) . some of us got placed in wipro, satyam etc. That was the time when i realized that all of us were turning into another species called "grown ups".Well, its fourth year sem 2 now. And all of us are busy either in projects or applying to universities in abroad and what not .WE all hardly get to see each other. I guess finally year of college gets you mentally prepared to be able to get separated from friends. i used to have the feeling every day but could not help, some times would prey god to take back the time to first year of the engineering since i personally feel first year is the best time in engineering as a student.

A Final Word From My Heart
I knew it is hard to keep in touch, once we are out of college, each of us with a different career in mind will be going where destiny takes us. Years will roll by without any of us even realizing. Then, one fine day you will be struck by a thought, “how I enjoyed back in college, being ragged by seniors then ragging juniors, fun with friends, watching movies, sneaking out from behind the bush, the travel on the 7-seater back home!” etc.For me tears rolled down many times thinking of my past engineering life. It's been 9 months i came to USA and it was the first time after seeing happy days i cried longing for my past days in engineering, blaming time for passing so soon with not letting me enjoy more of those days.well as it goes according to the rule of life that nothing lasts for ever.
